So you've unboxed your new DIY Flower Crown Hat for Dogs and you are super excited to get started creating stunning crowns for your pup. Let's get you oriented so you can be on your way! In the above photo you can see the hat laid out. The top of the hat, where we will later be adding flowers, functions very much like a sandwich. There is an opening on one side only. Next there are two loops for the dogs ears to go through. This is an important feature of your dog's new hat because the ear loops allow the hat to be secure and comfortable on the top of your pup's head. They anchor the hat so, unlike many other designs, the hat does not need to rely on overly constricting elastic. Third is the adjustable "bracelet" knot. The hat doesn't need to be, and should not be, super tight on your dogs head. You should be able to comfortably fit three fingers between the elastic cord and your pup. PRO TIP #1: Adjust the size of your new hat before you place it on your dog. That way once you are ready for your dog to wear your gorgeous flower creation, only minimal size adjustments need to be made. Open your hat and you can see that there are three rolled up strips that have been provided. We are going to use these to assemble your flower arrangements and attach them to the hat. Remove the strips. You'll notice that they are hook side out when rolled. This allows them to grip the soft strips inside the hat. It will be important to have the 'darker hook side' out when wrapping your flowers. Also note the flower arrangement zone. You'll want your bundles of flowers to stay in this area so when you fold your sandwich over you'll have no issues closing the hat. The video above shows how to best wrap your flowers with the strips and place them in the hat. By wrapping one flower at a time, with darker hook side out, you insure greater chance that the flowers won't slip out of the strips. By bundling three groups of flowers you achieve a nice lush flower crown and have more control over flower placement in the hat. Once your placed your flower bundles, close up your gorgeous flower sandwich and give it some gentle pats to allow the strips to grab and do their job. PRO TIP #2: Place hat on your dog as if your were putting their head through a harness. Using your hands to create an opening they can put their nose and head through. PRO TIP #3: Once the hat is on your dog, you can tuck the dangling bead cords up into the ear loops so they disappear for photos.
Last but not least let your heart explode with joy as you see your pup look fabulous in the DIY Flower Crown creation!! Don't forget to tag #alldogkind and @alldogkind when posting to social media so we can admire your creations!
